NOTICE OF ELECTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Beaumont, California on Tuesday November 3, 2020 for the following offices:
Two (2) Council Member Seats currently held by:
Each to serve a full term of four (4) years.
The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 3, 2020.
Qualifications to Run for City Office
To run for city office, you must be:
A citizen of the United States,
18 years of age or older, and
A resident and registered voter in the City of Beaumont at the time nomination papers are issued.
The period for filing of Nomination Papers is July 13, 2020, to August 7, 2020. (If an incumbent does not file Nomination Papers by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on August 7, 2020, the nomination period for that office shall be extended to August 12, 2020, during which time any eligible person other than the incumbent, may take out, circulate and file Nomination Papers for that office.
All applications for the Candidate process have been made available electronically with step by step tutorials. Please click Becoming A Candidate for this process. In person appointments to pull and submit nomination papers is also available by contacting the City Clerk’s Office during business hours. Please be advised that all current health and safety requirements will be implemented including the use of face masks and social distancing when possible during the appointment. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City of Beaumont will conduct public hearings to consider the matter described below. The City Council’s public hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at 550 East Sixth Street, Beaumont, California.
An Ordinance Adding Chapter 8.55 “Regulation of Shopping Carts” to the Beaumont Municipal Code
The addition of the chapter is intended to establish regulations regarding the use, containment and retrieval of shopping carts within the City of Beaumont.

This meeting will be conducted utilizing teleconference communications and will be recorded for live streaming. Public comments will be accepted via email and will be read aloud during the corresponding item of the meeting. Public comments shall not exceed (3) minutes unless otherwise authorized by City Council. A Resolution Establishing a Fee for Electric Vehicle Charging Station
The resolution is intended to establish a $0.35 kWh fee for use of electric vehicle charging plus a $2.00 parking fee after the first hour and part thereof.
