NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City of Beaumont will conduct public hearings to consider the matter described below. The Planning Commission’s public hearing will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 550 East Sixth Street, Beaumont, California. 

CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT NO. CUP2018-0021 AND PLOT PLAN 2018-0119 (BEAUMONT LANDING), Conduct a public hearing and consideration of a request a commercial development on an approximately 3.03-acre that would involve construction of an 18-pump fuel-station; a 3,800 square-foot convenience store; a 1,500 square-foot car wash; and a 4,000 square-foot restaurant with a drive-through. The convenience store, car wash, and gas station are proposed to be developed on Parcel 1 while the restaurant with a drive-through and a water quality basin are proposed to be developed on Parcel 2 located on the southwest corner of Oak Valley Parkway and the I-10 Freeway (APNs 419-090-007 and -007) in the Community Commercial (CC) Zone. The adoption of a Mitigated Negative Declaration pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act will be considered, based upon the proposed findings that the project will not have a significant impact upon the environment, with incorporated mitigation.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Beaumont City Council will conduct a public hearing to consider the matter below. The City Council Public Hearing will be held at 6:00pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 550 E. 6th Street, Beaumont, California 92223. This meeting will be conducted utilizing teleconference communications and will be recorded for live streaming as well as open to public attendance subject to social distancing and applicable health orders. The City of Beaumont will accept testimony and comments in person, via email, and through a phone-in option from all interested persons regarding the adoption of the following matter(s):

Amendment No. 1 Hidden Canyon Development Agreement (PLAN2019-0336) Consideration of amendment no. 1 to the development agreement for the Hidden Canyon Specific Plan. The Hidden Canyon Specific Plan project is approximately 198.38 acres of land (Assessor Parcel Nos. 424-010-011 through 424-010-018, inclusive), located south of SR-60 west of Potrero Boulevard and east of Jack Rabbit Trail. The proposed application for a development agreement amendment is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act. The applicant for this request is McDonald Property Group.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Beaumont, California on Tuesday November 3, 2020 for the following offices:

Two (2) Council Member Seats currently held by: 

Nancy Carroll
Julio Martinez

Each to serve a full term of four (4) years.

The polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 3, 2020. 

Qualifications to Run for City Office
To run for city office, you must be:

A citizen of the United States,
18 years of age or older, and
A resident and registered voter in the City of Beaumont at the time nomination papers are issued.

Candidacy
The period for filing of Nomination Papers is July 13, 2020, to August 7, 2020. (If an incumbent does not file Nomination Papers by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on August 7, 2020, the nomination period for that office shall be extended to August 12, 2020, during which time any eligible person other than the incumbent, may take out, circulate and file Nomination Papers for that office.

An Ordinance Adding Chapter 8.55 “Regulation of Shopping Carts” to the Beaumont Municipal Code

The addition of the chapter is intended to establish regulations regarding the use, containment and retrieval of shopping carts within the City of Beaumont.

A Resolution Establishing a Fee for Electric Vehicle Charging Station

The resolution is intended to establish a $0.35 kWh fee for use of electric vehicle charging plus a $2.00 parking fee after the first hour and part thereof.
