In late November, Detectives from the Beaumont Police Department were notified of a burglary investigation conducted by the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department. During their investigation the Sheriff’s Department located stolen property belonging to a victim in the City of Beaumont.
Upon further investigation it was determined the same suspect in the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department case was responsible for several burglaries in the City of Beaumont. The investigation revealed the suspect would break into vehicles to steal property, as well as take garage door openers and would later return to the residence to take items from the victim’s garage or home.
In November, the suspect was arrested by San Bernardino County Sheriff for the crimes in their jurisdiction. On Thursday, the Beaumont Police Department served a search warrant at the suspects home, located in the 13000 block of Balata Drive. The suspect was already in custody on charges related to the Sheriff’s investigation, but detectives were able to recover evidence related to the Beaumont cases. Detectives are filing additional charges of burglary, vehicle burglary and identity theft. Great collaboration and work by all!
This case is a good reminder to residents to be extra vigilant and be sure to remove any valuables from your vehicles, including garage door openers.
