Beaumont, CA - On Sunday, February 20, 2022, at approximately 4:09 p.m., the Beaumont Police Department was dispatched to the 1400 block of East 6th Street in reference to the sound of gunshots in the area.
The caller reported a loud “POP" and then heard a male screaming. The caller ran outside and located an adult male, who had been shot and was asking for help. Officers arrived on scene and located the male subject who was suffering from a single gunshot wound to the leg.
Officers attempted to get information from the victim, however, he was uncooperative with law enforcement. CalFire arrived and AMR transported the subject to an area hospital for treatment. The injury was not life-threatening.
Detectives from the Beaumont Police Department responded and assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation indicates an altercation may have occurred prior to the incident.
