Compliments
Everyone enjoys receiving recognition for their efforts and there is no question that the employees of the Beaumont Police Department are doing an outstanding job in the one of the fastest growing cities in California.
We realize that many of our residents and visitors would like to know how to compliment our employees for a job well done.
Compliments and Commendations, either verbal or written, are one of the best ways to let our employees know that you appreciate their good work and extraordinary customer service.
A commendation for an employee of the Beaumont Police Department is most often sent to the Chief of Police. You may also advise the employee's supervisor or Watch Commanders.
Your compliments may be made in person, by phone, by email or fax or through a letter or informal note to the Beaumont Police Department. You may also use this online form to send your compliments directly to the Chief.
Please do not use this form to report a crime or suspicious activity. Dial our business line at 951-769-8500. Our website is not monitored 24/7 and could significantly hinder efforts to provide timely assistance.
Complaint Form
The Beaumont Police Department regards the investigation of all complaints as important to its overall mission. If you feel that you have a complaint against an employee of the Beaumont Police Department, please use our online form. It is very important that you fill out as much information as possible to insure an accurate investigation. If the allegation requires follow-up, an investigator will contact you if you have provided contact information.
Anonymous Complaints
While the Beaumont Police Department will accept any complaint, please be aware that anonymous complaints can sometimes be difficult to investigate as an investigator may need additional information and the complainant may be the only source available. For this reason, please consider providing contact information when submitting your complaint.
Investigation
Each complaint is taken very seriously and will always be fairly and impartially investigated. It is impossible to put a time limit on any investigation, as the seriousness of the allegations vary, but be assured that every effort will be made to update specific complainants about specific cases.
Other Submission Options
If you would prefer to submit the complaint form in person or via U.S. postal mail, please print out the Citizen Complaint Form and mail it to the following address:

If a person is using a Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD) the 911 system will automatically detect the TDD equipment and open a TDD display screen for the Dispatcher when the 911 call is answered.
Required Information
The Dispatcher will require the following information:
- Location of the problem. Even though your telephone number and address should be shown on the Dispatcher’s console, we will want to confirm that the address is correct. Also, you may be calling from a location that is different from the address where you are calling. Be sure to give your telephone number and extension to the Dispatcher.
- Type of problem. The Dispatcher will need to know if you are reporting an emergency or something that is not an emergency. You will be asked for a basic description of what occurred and, if applicable:
- When the incident happened.
- A description of the suspect, including clothing.
- Whether a weapon was involved and, if so, what type.
- A description and direction of travel of a vehicle if one was involved.
Give the Dispatcher all of the information available to you. Do not leave out information because you don’t think that it is important. The more we know about an incident, the more effective we can be in helping.
In December of 2015, Beaumont Police Department in conjunction with several other San Bernardino and Riverside County agencies introduced Text to 911 to provide "Call if you can, text if you can't" service.
FCC (Federal Communications Commission) Guidelines
The following are the FCC Guidelines on how to contact 911. If you use a wireless phone or other type of mobile device, make sure to do the following in an emergency:
- If you can, always contact 911 by making a voice call.
- If you are deaf, hard-of-hearing, or speech disabled, and Text-to-911 is not available, use a TTY or telecommunications relay service, if available.
- If it is an emergency and you need to use this feature dial 911 into your device's messaging service, type your message and send.
- If you text 911 and text is not available in your area, you will receive a bounce back message advising "text is not available please make a voice call to 911."
- Location accuracy varies by carrier and should not be relied upon. Be prepared to give your location.
- Text-to-911 service will not be available if the wireless carrier cannot ascertain a location of the device sending the message.
- Text-to-911 is not available if you are roaming.
- A text or data plan is required to place a text to 911 .
- Photos and video cannot be sent to 911 . They cannot be received at the 911 center at this time.
- Text messages should be sent in plain language and not contain popular abbreviations (SMH, LOL, ICYMI) or emojis, which will not be recognized.
- Text-to-911 cannot be sent to more then one person. Do not send your emergency text to anyone other then 911 .
- Texts must be in English only. There currently is no language interpretation for text available. This is still in development.
