Beaumont, CA - As part of the process for the development application for the Summit Station Project, preparation of the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) for the Beaumont Summit Station Specific Plan has been completed. The proposed project is located in the northwestern portion of the City of Beaumont on 186 acres South of Cherry Valley Boulevard, north of Brookside Avenue and east of the Interstate 10 Freeway. The DEIR is available for public review, in compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) the public can review the report and make comments from April 21, 2022 – June 6, 2022. Next Steps; After the DEIR review period, the project will be reviewed by the City’s Planning Commission at a public hearing, tentatively scheduled for June 28, 2022. At this meeting, Planning Commission will hold a public hearing, which provides an opportunity for the public to make comments on the project. Once comments are heard and the Planning Commission discusses the project, they will make a recommendation to City Council. NO official decisions will be made at the Planning Commission meeting. The second public hearing is tentatively scheduled for the City Council meeting on July 19, 2022. At this meeting, a public hearing will be held and a decision may be made by the City Council.
