Learn how to compost yard, fruit, and vegetable trimmings at home. This class provides an introduction to composting. Residents will get an overview of the composting process, how different methods of composting work, and the benefits of each. Residents learn what materials can be used for composting so that it is successful and productive. 

Vermicomposting Class & Demo

Join us on October 26, 2024, to learn about Vermicomposting.  This free class teaches residents how to make a worm bin, the science behind the creation of worm casting and leachate, and how to care for the worms, make bedding, and harvest a worm bed.  Riverside County Department of Waste Resources will be conducting a class along with a demonstration at Albert A. Chatigny Community Center at 1310 Oak Valley Parkway.
