Memorial Plaza

The Beaumont Memorial Plaza at the Civic Center is a transformative and revitalized space dedicated to honoring and celebrating the lives of our veterans and public safety personnel. This project transformed the original fenced memorials into an accessible, open, and serene environment, creating a welcoming space for reflection and community gatherings.

Key features include expanded granite slabs to accommodate additional names of veterans, police, and fire personnel, ADA-compliant pathways, calming water features, and enhanced lighting. These thoughtful improvements foster emotional wellness, strengthen community identity, and preserve historical resources for future generations.

The renovated plaza officially opened on Veterans Day 2024. It has since become a cherished space for ceremonies, civic pride, and honoring the past while inspiring the future.

The Beaumont Memorial Plaza hosts three annual ceremonies:

  • Memorial Day Ceremony: Honors veterans with the inscription of names of those who have passed.
  • Public Safety Appreciation Day: Held on the second Saturday of October, it recognizes deceased police and fire personnel by adding their names to the memorial.
  • Veterans Day Ceremony: Pays tribute to all military personnel for their service to our country.

The Beaumont Memorial Plaza is located on the Civic Center front lawn at 550 E. 6th Street. For questions regarding adding names to the Memorial, please contact Beaumont Parks and Recreation at (951)769-8524.
